1941 | Planning of the “Reichsbahnbunker Friedrichstrasse”

1942 | Construction of the bunker Karlstrasse / Albrechtstrasse in central Berlin as shelter for civilians living close by (2000 people).

1945 | Occupation of the bunker by the Soviet Army.

1949 | The bunker becomes a warehouse for textiles. |
1957 | The “VEB Obst Gemüse Kartoffeln” stores dried and tropical fruit in the bunker. Because of its usage as fruit warehouse the bunker is known to locals as “pre-Christmas-bunker”, or “bananabunker”.

1990 | After the Reunion the bunker is owned by the Federal Republic of Germany.

1992 | The bunker establishes its new image as toughest club in the world with techno-, fetish-, and fantasy parties.

1993 | The bunker houses the “Rot-Kreuz-Club”, which is called “Ex-Kreuzclub” from ‘94 onwards (re-named on the occasion of dissuasion by the “Deutsches Rotes Kreuz” charity organisation.

1994 | The German Theatre stages Simon Donalds’ “The Stuff of Life” on the fourth floor of the bunker.

1995 | "Sexperimenta"

1995 | The New Year’s party “The last Days of Saigon” is being prohibited. It is taking place nevertheless. The bunker is shut down on official decree.

1996 | “Overture of lust” SM-Party

1996 | Art exhibition "Files" with O.Elliasson, D. Pflumm, U. Rondinone and others.

2001 | The Nippon Development Corporation GmbH acquires the bunker.

2003 | Art exhibition "Inside out"

2003 | Christian Boros purchases the bunker for reconstruction to suit his collection of contemporary art.

2004 | "Realarchitektur" starts with the planning of the realisation. |
2007 | Completion of rebuilding and first public viewing of installative works.
